Especially for Health Care Professionals

The SAFEta source web site is designed for multidisciplinary team members who are caring for victims of sexual assault.  Although all areas of the site are accessible, there are certain areas of the site that may have more appeal to specific disciplines. The sections and topics listed below may be helpful for healthcare professionals who are caring for victims of sexual assault.

SAFE National Protocol 2nd Edition (April 2013)

The National Protocol for Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations of Adults and Adolescents was created to address the coordinated community response to sexual assault.  However, it is specifically written to be useful for communities developing a victim sensitive response to sexual assault.  In the Protocol, roles of responders are addressed, along with guidelines for suggested practice.
